Whether or not you’d call yourself a “changemaker”, you care about the well-being of your community, and you have ideas for how to make your part of the world a better place where everyone is well-nourished. Perhaps you’re already pouring your heart into a project, organization, or campaign that you care deeply about.

Regardless, you know first hand how much energy it takes to make meaningful, transformational change. At times, you might question whether you have what it takes to be successful or ask yourself, “why does it have to be so hard?!”

You may even notice all that struggle and strain showing up in your body in uncomfortable ways.

What would it be like to experience even a little more ease — in mind and body — as you work to make your community a better place?

The adventure you’re on can be enlivening, deeply fulfilling, and even playful when you are prepared to navigate challenging circumstances with ease rather than struggle.

In this 1-day event, you will learn practical tools to tend to your mind AND your body — so you can make your impact with joy.

This workshop will prepare you to bring a sense of lightness and possibility to even the most challenging times so that you can stay well-nourished as you help your community thrive. Through experiential movement activities, yoga, and a 1-hour Awareness Through Movement session, you’ll learn practical tools for how to engage with your life as a changemaker in a way that supports you and others to stay effective and well-nourished for the long haul.

This workshop is for: Community leaders, educators, artists, organizers, activists, political campaigners, community benefit organizations, social entrepreneurs, and anyone else working to create a just and sustainable world.

On: Saturday, August 24th, 9am - 3pm

→ We’ll take a spacious lunch break when you’ll get to be in community with fellow participants and enjoy delicious vegan and vegetarian food from local restaurant Nourish (gluten free options available) or bring your own food!

→ Join us after the workshop to relax in KORU’s sauna and/or experience the transformational power of an ice bath at no extra cost!

At: KORU Real Wellness, 4050 Skyron Dr, Suite D1, Doylestown, PA 18902 (map)

→ A free shuttle will be available from the Doylestown train and bus station allowing easy access from Philadelphia. The SEPTA train arrives at 8:45am (90 minutes from 30th St Station), and you’ll have plenty of time before the first session starts at 9:30am.

Price: Sliding scale from $100 - $250 + optional $15 catered lunch. Discounted & free scholarships and meal assistance are available. Just ask! (details)

You’ll be taken to a separate registration page hosted by MindBody where you can pay with a credit card, or call KORU to pay by phone.

Schedule a 30-minute interest chat with Seth to answer any lingering questions and help you get clear if this workshop is a good fit for you at this time.

What You’ll Learn

In this interactive, experiential program, you and a supportive group of changemakers will explore:

  1. The fundamental “rules of the game” for bringing any idea, project, or movement into reality. You’ll observe through stretching and movement where you’ve been working harder than you need to both in your body and in your changemaking work, and you’ll see how to play for your most audacious goals with ease.

  2. That ease is taking small, sweet steps toward what is important to you. You’ll see how to “get things done” -- but with elegance instead of struggle.

  3. Why movement matters. As changemakers, you know how necessary it is to bring awareness to social norms. Our collective behaviors are always at the forefront of your consciousness. Of equal, if not identical, significance, are your movement habits. The Feldenkrais Method is a technique our colleagues at KORU use to shed light on the relationship between movement (aka, personal habits) and the world around us (aka, the environment). The Awareness Through Movement practice they offer is a gentle way to bring ease and alignment into your body.

Is this for me?

Does this sound like you? You...

  • Desire to see your community thrive by cultivating equity, justice, and sustainability, but sometimes you get stuck feeling frustrated and cynical about how to get there.

  • Suspect you might be working harder than you need to be — feeling like you’re often doing too much, too fast. There’s got to be an easier way to affect meaningful change!

  • Spend more time and energy worrying about “the state of the world” than on meaningful action towards your goals.

  • Have trouble showing up as your full, radiant, joyous self in social change work.

  • Are exhausted and worried about burning out in your work, and you’re ready to make a change.

  • Overthink things and get stressed out making decisions.

  • Notice that your stress, anxiety, and worry for the world manifest in your body as stiffness, pain, or uncomfortable movement.

We envision a world where everyone is supported 100% and no one is left out. Our sliding scale reflects that vision, by supporting people to participate who could not otherwise do so.

Choose a payment level that’s a stretch, but not a hardship:

  1. $100 if it’s a stretch to be investing in this

  2. $175 if you’re living comfortably

  3. $200 if you’re flourishing financially

If the lowest tier is inaccessible for you at this time, please email, and we will gladly support you to find a rate that’s authentic for you or provide a scholarship.

What’s it really worth?

You’ll get 4 hours of training and group coaching plus a one-hour group Feldenkrais class with professionally certified coaches. One-on-one, this would cost between $500 - $800.

With the group format, we can offer this program at a fraction of that cost, AND you get to benefit from the support of the community we’ll bring together.

“How much should I pay?”

Pay with joy and keep it simple! This is the best way to honor our work. Just make sure it’s truly a stretch, and not a hardship. Pay more and help folks join who otherwise couldn’t. OR pay less, knowing you’re giving what you truly can.

You’ll be taken to a separate registration page hosted by MindBody where you can pay with a credit card, or call KORU to pay by phone.

We want to help you make the world a better place for everyone, and “everyone” includes you.

When your whole self is nourished by the way that you do your important work, you will bring joy and ease to those who you serve. And your whole self includes your mind AND body.

As a team of coaches and healers, we know that our neurology mirrors our physiology. This is obvious, but it is worth emphasizing that the physical body and the mind are inextricably linked. The experience of struggle in one leads to dis-ease in another. As activists ourselves, we also know how the perceived urgency of caring for others can take precedence over taking good care of our own selves such that the struggle slowly, almost imperceptibly, gets worse and worse — leading to exhaustion and burnout.

We’re leading this program because your life doesn’t have to go that way! You can do your work with efficacy and joy while taking good care of your whole self.

We’re excited to integrate coaching, a tool for cultivating ease mentally, with KORUs tools for cultivating ease physically so that you will get practical tools to embody ease in everything you do.

We hope you’ll join us to experience a new level of ease in your important work.

Please reach out if you have any questions!

*high five*
